Under Eye Dark Circle

Facial rejuvenation with thrombin

The face is an individual’s greatest and most distinguishing feature on the body. However, aging, sun exposure, smoking and alcohol consumption may cause the skin to develop fine lines, wrinkles, spots and may accelerate the process of aging. The skin under the eyes may lose volume and develop a sunken or baggy appearance with dark circles. Platelet rich plasma in combination with thrombin can help rejuvenate this important area of the face.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a product obtained from your own blood by processing it to concentrate platelets. PRP is then injected into areas of wrinkles, fine lines, and scars on your face. Thrombin is combined to activate the release of growth factors from PRP that stimulate the production of new cells and collagen to enhance healing and treat volume loss under the eyes. It may also improve the appearance of scars and facial defects. The entire procedure takes about 20 minutes. Two to three treatments about 3-4 months apart may be necessary for ideal results. The effects last up to 18 months. PRP may be combined with the use of dermal fillers for more lasting results.
